In the photo above you see the painting getting a look-over  from Louvre curator Jacques Foucart in 1987.
The painting in fact represents Tobit and Anna waiting for the return of their son Tobias. Ironically, Tobit is blind.
This consideration may inspire far-reaching reflections on the nature of philosophy and the practice of art history.
